Paulo Nobre returns to Allianz Parque and cools talk of Palmeiras politics comeback | OneFootball

Palmeiras opened their 2026 Copa do Brasil campaign with a 3-0 win over Jacuipense at Allianz Parque, where former president Paulo Nobre returned to the stands after about 10 years.

Ramón Sosa scored twice, with Felipe Anderson also on target. Paulo Nobre said in a social media post that Allianz Parque holds special significance for him and that coming back after a long absence was an important moment in his relationship with the club.

He referred to a promise made after the 2023 defeat to LDU, saying he would return if Palmeiras overturned the scoreline. He also distanced himself from talk of changing his plans, adding that if his stance ever changes he will return and announce it himself.

Palmeiras visit Red Bull Bragantino in Bragança Paulista on Sunday 12 in the Campeonato Brasileiro, kick-off 18:30 Brasília time. They lead the league by six points.

The Copa do Brasil return leg is scheduled for 13 May at 21:30 Brasília time, in Londrina-PR.
