Pavlidis hits hat-trick as Benfica extend unbeaten Liga run | OneFootball

Benfica beat Moreirense 4-0 in Moreira de Cónegos to stretch their Liga Portugal unbeaten start to 14 matches.

Early on, Anatolii Trubin tipped over Gilberto Batista's goalbound header as the hosts pressed.

In the 36th minute, Evangelos Pavlidis glanced in Fredrik Aursnes' corner-kick cross to put the Águias ahead. Moreirense then lost Vasco Sousa to injury before the interval, while Leandro Martins departed for the visitors at half time.

After the restart, Pavlidis doubled the lead with a firm finish from the centre of the box (57.), then completed his treble with a low left-footer (70.). Aursnes capped it with a thumping strike from distance into the top right (76.), having already supplied two assists.

Pavlidis is now on 13 league goals, first in the Liga Portugal scoring chart.

Moreirense saw plenty of the ball with 52.8% possession and 10 attempts. The Águias were clinical, posting five shots on target from 10 attempts and winning 58.8% of their duels.
