Vangelis Pavlidis is not looking to leave Benfica for now, despite a recent interview in which he acknowledged a possible move. The Greek forward had sparked speculation around his short-term future.
Record writes that the striker is not seeking to force an exit and remains calm about what lies ahead. He has endured a lean spell in front of goal, yet Benfica have resisted strong interest in the 27-year-old.
Pavlidis, Benfica’s number 14, knows Jose Mourinho’s trust has not wavered. Despite only two goals in his last 10 appearances, he remains an undisputed starter under the coach, who values his qualities and profile.
He has a contract until the summer of 2029 and turns 28 in November. The report adds his objective is to win the championship with Benfica.
This season he has played 49 official matches for Benfica, 29 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 4,037 minutes he has 29 goals and five assists. He is valued at 32 million euros.
