It has been some days since the fans last got to see FC Barcelona in action, as club football in Spain and other parts of Europe is currently on pause because of the November international break.

As is usually the case, several Blaugrana players represented their teams in this break, but Spain was once again the international team with the highest representation of Barcelona players in its ranks. One such player who donned the Spanish jersey last night was Pedri, as he played against Switzerland.

Although the Spaniards had already qualified for the next round of the UEFA Nations League and this was a rather inconsequential match for the team at large, it was still a very special match for Pedri as it was the first time he played for Spain in his native city of Tenerife.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the fans were clearly very glad to see one of their own playing at such a high level and manifested this by cheering for the Barcelona midfielder several times on the night.

Thus, Pedri was cheered even before the match and also when he left the pitch after he was substituted. Surprisingly, the fans also cheered him when he missed a penalty that Morata had allowed him to take.

In total, the Blaugrana midfielder played 80 minutes in this game and also had to undergo some physical challenges. However, fortunately for Barcelona, he will now be traveling back to the club unscathed, along with his international teammates, Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo, and Marc Casado.

Other Spain regulars like Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal did not participate in this game. The former remained on the bench, while the latter had not traveled for this game because of his physical issue.

In addition to these Spanish players, Frenkie de Jong has also returned to Barcelona as Ronald Koeman released him early after seeing his Netherlands side qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.
