A day after being removed from Vasco’s SAF board, Pedrinho said in a letter to supporters that hidden forces had sabotaged the club and that such moves could prove costly.
The 4th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro removed him and two colleagues following a request from 777 Carioca, with judge Caroline Fonseca acting on findings by the SAF Fiscal Council. Club president Pedrinho and councillors Christiano Stockler Campos and Felipe Elias were suspended from the SAF board. Former CBF legal director Samantha Longo was appointed as interventor.
Longo must, within 60 days, restore governance processes, transparency, accounting and the circulation of information, and submit reports every 15 days for the court’s supervision.
The ruling cited serious governance failures, weak internal controls and limits on oversight identified in the Fiscal Council’s report. Allegations raised by Jean David were also addressed in the decision.
In his letter, Pedrinho said he had put personal assets at the club’s disposal and worked to stabilise operations to secure a deal with Marcos Lamacchia that was close to being announced, but claimed the process was undermined.
He urged opponents not to damage Vasco and to allow the sale to proceed, warning that obstruction could jeopardise the club’s future.
