Vasco are in a decisive phase of talks to sell their SAF, president Pedrinho said, adding the club is close to an important step. According to Globo.com, he declined to name the investor, who is Marcos Faria Lamacchia.

He urged caution on contract terms after the 777 Partners episode, and said the priority is a credible investor to bring stability. He added wages have been kept up to date and should remain so.

He would not set a date, saying Vasco are close to a significant move but he does not want to raise expectations. Asked if a Lamacchia deal could close in 2026, he offered no deadline but said he hoped so.

Talks have advanced in recent weeks, covering the judicial recovery plan, tax debts outside that process, and the scale of investment for the team and facilities. Optimists think a 90% sale of the football operation could be signed within weeks, though others expect longer given council approvals and the 777, now A-CAP, stake to resolve.

A transition keeping Pedrinho initially in SAF governance is possible. Talks have been aided by his rapport with the Lamacchia family, while lawyer André Sica, formerly at Palmeiras, is negotiating for Lamacchia.

The SAF share split is 30% with the association, 31% with 777 via investments since 2022, and 39% controlled by Vasco by court order, though under arbitration dispute. Selling the disputed portion would require an agreement or a court decision in the club’s favour.
