Pedro becomes third Flamengo player to score against all G-12 rivals | OneFootball

Pedro became the third Flamengo player to score against all G-12 opponents after striking twice in Sunday’s 4-0 win at Atlético-MG. The number nine is now on 167 goals for the club, Flamengo’s leading scorer this century and sixth overall.

Globo.com reports that only Gabigol and Arrascaeta had previously completed the set. Gabigol did so in February 2022, also against Atlético-MG in the Supercopa do Brasil, which the Minas side won on penalties.

Arrascaeta closed his list eight months later with a goal in a 3-2 league win over Santos in 2022. He had already scored four times against Atlético-MG since 2019.

Pedro’s haul against the traditional rivals reads: two v Atlético-MG and São Paulo, three v Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Grêmio, four v Internacional and Santos, five v Vasco, six v Corinthians, eight v Palmeiras and nine v Fluminense.

He has 49 goals for Flamengo against the G-12, joint sixth with Henrique Frade, one behind Dida. Romário sits fourth on 53, three fewer than Pirillo. Gabigol is second on 59, with Zico out in front on 104.

Zico never scored against Cruzeiro in seven appearances, which kept him short of a clean sweep. Dida also missed one club, Grêmio, although he did not face the Porto Alegre side for Flamengo.

Bruno Henrique has 47 goals against these opponents since 2019 but none against Palmeiras. His next chance comes on 23 May, matchday 17 of the Brasileirão at the Maracanã.
