Pedro struck his 161st Flamengo goal to draw level with Gabigol as the club’s top scorer this century, netting in a 3-1 win over Santos at the Maracanã on Sunday.

He is now sixth on Flamengo’s all-time list with 161. According to Globo.com, Zico leads the club’s historical list on 508 goals.

This is Pedro’s seventh season at the club and he has nine goals in 2026. His most prolific year was 2023, when he scored 35 in 61 games.

Earlier in the campaign, against Cruzeiro in the seventh round of the Brasileiro, he reached 100 Flamengo goals at the Maracanã. He is the stadium’s fifth-highest scorer with 111, including 11 for Fluminense.

Post-match, he called the day special, said every goal matters to him and spoke about the team returning to the standards they want, stressing the need to keep improving.

After ups and downs under Filipe Luís in 2025 and at the start of this season, the arrival of Leonardo Jardim has been a boost. The Portuguese intends to maximise players in their natural roles and avoid improvisation, and as the squad’s only natural centre-forward Pedro tends to be used more.
