Tottenham defender Pedro Porro says his future will be decided after the World Cup.
Porro, who is in the Spain squad for this summer’s tournament, says his full focus is on his country and anything related to his club can wait until after the tournament is finished.
“It’s going to be handled after the World Cup,” Porro said. “I don’t want to hear anything until then. I’m 100% focused on my team right now, with the national team, I’m not thinking about a possible transfer.
“I have a contract with my club, I’m at ease, and basically, as you say, if my agent comes to me and says anything directly, I either won’t answer the phone or I’ll tell him we’ll talk after the World Cup.”
After a difficult season at Spurs, where the north London side managed to secure their Premier League status on the final day, the 26-year-old has admitted he is in a better space after draining campaign.
“Physically and mentally, I feel so much better now (after end of season),” he said. “When you lose 100 kilos away from you it’s like that, because we had a tough end to the season (in Tottenham).

“It was really tough but everything turned out great, and that’s what matters most. Roberto (De Zerbi) came in and kept us in the Premier League. It was a very difficult season, just like the one before, I’d say because last season we won the Europa League.
“But we didn’t do well in the league. And this year was more of the same. We had ten, 15 injuries. Those aren’t excuses because we have a great squad, but soccer is sometimes very complicated; you get into situations like this and you just have to get out of them however you can.”
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Manchester City, something the defender remained tight-lipped on.
“As I said before, about the (Manchester) City thing, no, I haven’t read anything, I don’t know anything. I’m 100% focused on the World Cup, and then we’ll see.”
