Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini spoke to DAZN after the Giallorossi beat Empoli 1-0.
After the match, the Italian midfielder recounted, “It would have been better if Shomu had scored. He was desperate, I had to calm him down by telling him that he would do it later.”
“He gets very angry. He told me that he wanted to shoot hard because he has this desire to break the net wide open, instead sometimes it’s better to just calmly touch the ball.”
“Fortunately it went well and we won. It was a great game,” he said.
“I have been saying for a long time that this is a healthy group and that what we were experiencing was something extraordinary in a negative way. I have never seen the group disunited, have problems or argue with each other, no matter the results.”
“We all fight shoulder to shoulder to do the good of Roma. I am happy about this because certain things are not seen even if they are perceived. I am proud because to be a good group and guys who love each other there are those who work hard and I also work hard for this.”
“Ranieri? My relationship with the coach is a good relationship, two men who look each other in the eye and tell each other the truth. We’ve done it a few times since he arrived.”
“I’m happy with where we’re at because he knows how much I respect him, and how happy I am that he came to give us a hand. He often tells me this even if sometimes I don’t understand it.”
“I’m someone who likes to listen, especially if the words come from a person like him, there’s no doubt that I try to improve in what he asks of me.”
