According to journalist Eleonora Trotta of calciomercato.it, the Giallorossi midfielder has twice rejected offers from Besiktas, who attempted to sign him by offering a contract worth over €3.5 million per season.

The Turkish club attempted to convince the former Roma captain to leave the capital, but the player refused on both occasions.

This is a clear signal of Pellegrini’s desire to continue his career with the Giallorossi.

According to Trotta, negotiations for a renewal with Roma are continuing. The deal hasn’t yet reached completion yet, but the decision to turn down Besiktas confirms the player’s willingness to remain part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s coaching project.
