The Roma skipper has been going through a spell of ups and downs since Claudio Ranieri’s arrival.

The veteran technician has rarely picked him in the team’s starting eleven and such could be the case on Thursday night.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pellegrini will be on the bench in Porto, ready to come in in the second half.

In the meantime, Roma no longer consider him a key piece of the squad and his position will be at risk in the summer.
