Servigroup Peñíscola were thrust into the spotlight after a mass brawl at Juan Vizcarro on Tuesday night, moments after their matchday 18 Primera División fixture against Noia Apostoli. The scenes were among the darkest in Spanish futsal since Boadilla-Benicarló in 2006, 20 years ago.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club now faces significant financial penalties and their home court could be closed for several matches. The situation should become clearer on Thursday, when the RFEF’s single futsal disciplinary judge is expected to address the case.

Peñíscola player Juanico posted an apology on social media for his behaviour and accepted he must face the consequences. He could receive a ban of 6 to 12 matches.

Peñíscola condemned the incidents in strong terms. The club has begun internal proceedings to clarify what happened and to apply any internal sanctions, and has instructed its legal team to pursue action against all those involved, regardless of affiliation.

Noia also condemned the post-match violence and detailed an unacceptable climate of hostility. Three of their players sustained contusions, shown by medical reports after examinations at a nearby health centre.
