Visiting league leaders in Linz on Sunday

Two games remain, and theoretically anything is still possible from first to fifth place! Our hosts hold the best cards on Sunday. Should LASK, the current league leaders, manage to beat us (and Sturm Graz slip up at the same time in Hartberg), Didi Kühbauer's team could celebrate the double. We have to do everything in our power to prevent that..

In fact, our last chance at the title isn't over either, even though it's no longer in our own hands. One thing for certain is in this tightly packed championship group, we desperately need points to secure the best possible European qualification spot.

While the Linz side will be riding high on the euphoria of their cup win, recent form clearly favors our Red Bulls. We've felt particularly comfortable playing away at the Raiffeisen Arena recently, winning five of our last six matches there, most recently with a resounding 5-1 success. The 2-3 home defeat in April was a bitter pill to swallow, and we're eager to avenge that.

This Sunday, we're not just running for three points, but also for a good cause, as part of the Wings for Life World Run, which is taking place on the same day (more info). Incidentally, last year we secured three points against FK Austria Vienna on the day of the run.

We're facing a very in-form LASK on Sunday. They've shown that recently, both in the league and in the cup final. Since Didi Kühbauer took over as coach, they've improved significantly, playing very consistently overall and have therefore picked up the most points. Nevertheless, we're going to Linz to win the game and turn what was a two-horse race for the title into a three-way battle. That's what is in our hands, and we have to give it our all for the full 90 minutes.

Of course, we know the standings and we know we need a win in this game to stay in contention at the top. Even though we no longer control our own destiny in the title race, we'll give everything we can in Linz to take a win. But we also know that LASK is in excellent form and will be going into the game with a lot of momentum, not just from their cup win. We have to be prepared for that.
