Pedro joined Chelsea last summer in a deal worth up to £60m from Brighton and has had a successful first season to date.

The Brazilian has scored 18 goals in all competitions with 14 of those coming in the Premier League, including a hat-trick against Aston Villa.

Moises Caicedo names Joao Pedro as most underrated player

Pedro has been in brilliant form since the arrival of Liam Rosenior at the start of the year, and is absolutely in the conversation to be signing of the season.

The Brazil international has established himself as Chelsea’s number nine, and arguably the most in form player in the league currently.

Rosenior claimed Pedro is currently on the same level as Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane, and now Caicedo has named him as the most underrated player at the club.

“Joao Pedro,” he told Sky Sports.

“People don’t know how good he is. So, for me, he’s one of the best, not just in the Premier League, but in the world because of his movements, how he plays, how he scores.

“He has everything for me as a striker.”

Brazilian aiming to match Diego Costa

With nine games remaining Pedro is looking to become the first Chelsea striker since Diego Costa to score 20 goals in a league season.

The Brazilian needs six goals in the remaining games, and given his confidence and current form you wouldn’t bet against him doing it.

Chelsea have struggled with finding a number nine since Costa left, but it looks like they could have found their man in Pedro.
