Pep Guardiola said there would be no celebrations after Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 to win the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.
According to L'Équipe, the City manager would not allow “not even a beer”, with his side still chasing the Premier League and two fixtures to play, against Bournemouth on Tuesday and Aston Villa next Sunday.
The victory delivered City's second trophy of the campaign, following a 2-0 League Cup win over Arsenal two months ago, also at Wembley.
Guardiola added that any party would wait until Monday, after Aston Villa, when they planned to celebrate with the women's team, who were crowned champions of England in 2026 for the second time, a decade after their first title.
He described the Cup as “really, really cool, really special for the tradition”. City had lost the last two finals, in 2024 to Manchester United and in 2025 to Crystal Palace.
