Former Roma star Diego Perotti believes his compatriots Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé will help Claudio Ranieri, who is seen as the ideal coach in a ‘tense’ situation at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma hired their third coach this season last week, calling Ranieri back to the club.
Former Argentinean winger Perotti briefly worked with Ranieri in the capital, scoring four goals in seven Serie A appearances in 2018-19.
“The coach motivates you but remains calm and does not shout—not everyone can do this,” Perotti told Corriere dello Sport.
“He keeps you focused and is always close to the players. He is clear and like a father in the dressing room. In a tense situation like this one, Ranieri knows how to restore calm and attention.”

Perotti’s compatriots Dybala and Soulé have failed to impress this season, but the former winger is convinced that the Argentinean pair will help Ranieri’s Roma to bounce back.
“I think Soulé is so strong and I was surprised Juventus let him leave,” admitted Perotti.
“He will become a top player; he is a special player due to his quality and creativity. He is in a difficult moment, but he does not himself and continues asking for the ball and playing with freedom. He just needs two or three good performances to emerge.”
Soulé completed a permanent €25m transfer from Juventus last summer, but has only scored one goal in 12 matches across all competitions with Roma.
On the other hand, Dybala snubbed a big-money move to Al Qadsiah FC but has done little more than Soulé, with only two goals in 12 appearances.
“There isn’t much to say about Dybala,” concluded Perotti.
“Perhaps we underestimate one thing. He is a World Cup winner and he took a penalty in the Final. He has incredible qualities. He can’t be questioned. He is Roma’s added value and will continue guiding Roma this season.”
