According to L'Équipe, UEFA has banned Petr Vlachovsky for life after he secretly filmed his players in the dressing room for nearly four years, and has asked FIFA to extend the sanction worldwide.

UEFA also instructed the Czech Football Association to revoke his coaching licence if that has not already happened, following its own investigation.

Players from FC Slovacko, a Czech top-flight club, were heard during the case. Early this year they criticised what they saw as an overly lenient punishment for their former coach.

Vlachovsky was arrested in September 2023, then in May 2025 received a suspended sentence and a five-year domestic coaching ban imposed at national level.

FIFPRO and FIFPRO Europe welcomed the lifetime ban, praising the Czech players’ union for its persistence and the players for their courage. The unions called the ruling a strong and necessary message that abusive behaviour has no place in football, and player welfare must remain a priority at all levels. They also pledged to keep working with unions, governing bodies and stakeholders to strengthen protections.
