Philippe Montanier contract ends, ASSE coach decision due within 10 days | OneFootball

Philippe Montanier’s ASSE contract ends on 30 June, and the identity of the club’s next head coach will be known at the latest within 10 days. ASSE are officially without a manager on one July, the provisional date for the return to training.

Montanier had an automatic extension clause in the event of promotion, yet he will be free when his deal ends. Meanwhile, the successor to Eirik Horneland has already rejected an offer from Nantes, relegated to Ligue 2, according to Ouest-France.

A return for the Normandy-born coach cannot be ruled out at the restart, provided the club make a proposal to the former Toulouse boss and both sides meet again after an initial contact.

Other coaches with promotion on their CV, including Christophe Pélissier, recently dismissed by Auxerre, and Olivier Pantaloni, who did not extend at Lorient, are on the market and could be credible options for ASSE.

The coming days will be used to meet contenders for the job.
