Philogene converts penalty as Ipswich Town climb to second | OneFootball

Ipswich Town beat Charlton Athletic 2-1 at The Valley to rise from third to second in the Championship.

Charlton struck in the first minute when Greg Docherty finished from the centre of the box. Darnell Furlong levelled with a low drive from range (36.), before the Tractor Boys completed the turnaround from the spot (58.).

The penalty came after Furlong was fouled in the area. Jaden Philogene converted low into the corner (58.).

Christian Walton kept the visitors steady, saving from Tyreece Campbell early on and then denying Charlie Kelman before the break. In the closing stages, Thomas Kaminski saved from Marcelino Núñez in the third minute of second half stoppage time.

The Tractor Boys controlled long spells, posting 63.9% possession and 13 attempts with five on target. Charlton registered six attempts, three on target.
