Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski managed to extend his advantage in the race for the Pichichi award over the weekend.
This came owing to his match-winning exploits in Barca’s hard-fought La Liga victory over Deportivo Alavés.
The Pole netted the only goal of the game in Catalunya’s capital on Sunday, to take his tally for the La Liga campaign to 18 goals.
Whilst Lewandowski was busy adding to his tally, though, closest Pichichi challenger Kylian Mbappé came up blank.
En route to Real Madrid’s shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Espanyol, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital saw his scintillating recent run of form brought to a firm end.
Mbappé therefore remains in 2nd place, on 15 goals.
Rounding out the podium places are another Barcelona star in Raphinha, and Osasuna frontman Ante Budimir, the latter of whom managed a match-winning brace against Real Sociedad to join Raphinha on 12 league goals.
