He has netted two goals and provided an additional seven assists in 12 La Liga appearances. Across all competitions, Rashford has managed six goals and nine assists.

The England international had started Barcelona’s last 10 games until the weekend’s victory over Athletic Club. Before the clash, the reigning Champions released a statement confirming that Rashford would not be available to Hansi Flick for selection.

Barcelona revealed that Rashford was sidelined with the flu.

The forward had not attended training ahead of the fixture but he has confirmed that he was back with his teammates at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday.

Rashford gives update

Rashford took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself at Barcelona’s training complex.

He captioned the photo with the message, “Feeling better and back with the team.”

Rashford’s return is a major boost to Flick and Barcelona, who can also now call on Brazilian winger Raphinha after a spell away from action.

The Carrington academy graduate dazzled on his last outing to England, grabbing a superb brace in a 2-1 Champions League triumph over Newcastle at St James’ Park back in September.

He’ll certainly be hoping to feature against Chelsea on Thursday evening. Rashford knows Chelsea well, having come up against them 21 times in the past. The 28-year-old has won seven of these contests, drawn eight and lost the remaining six.

Rashford has scored six goals and contributed a further five assists against the Blues.
