Pierce Charles equals Northern Ireland record in win over Belarus | OneFootball

UEFA minnows Northern Ireland could have a real star on their hands in the vein of Sheffield Wednesday's Pierce Charles.

The 19-year-old Charles, who previously was among the many gifted talents inside the Man City youth system, has burst onto the international scene for the Green and White Army since making his debut against Belarus back in October.

Since then, Charles has gone on to keep consecutive clean sheets in each of his three caps under Michael O'Neill while presiding over two wins and a draw in the process.

His latest clean sheet, tonight's 2-0 win over Belarus, pulls him level with Michael McGovern, who last achieved the same milestone back in September of 2017.

Charles is one of a number of young Northern Irish talents in the current squad, with Northern Ireland sitting in pole position atop Group 3 in Nations League C while having already guaranteed at least a place in the promotion playoffs
