Pierre Aristouy to take charge of USSA Vertou in National 3 | OneFootball

Former FC Nantes coach Pierre Aristouy will lead USSA Vertou next season in National 3, the fifth tier, in the Nantes region.

The club said in a Facebook post that Aristouy accepted their approach with enthusiasm.

It marks a return to the amateur game for the 46-year-old, who previously managed Stade Montois from 2014 to 2017 before rejoining Nantes.

At Nantes he worked with the reserves and under-19s, then took charge of the first team in May 2023. He kept the Canaris up, started 2023-24, and was dismissed in late November with the side 11th in Ligue 1.

More than two years after leaving Nantes, he is back on the touchline with Vertou, currently ninth in their National 3 group.

His name resurfaced in March for a possible return after Ahmed Kantari’s exit, but Nantes ultimately chose Vahid Halilhodzic instead.
