Why United Are Looking at Kalulu

Kalulu has been one of Juventus’ standout performers since arriving on loan from AC Milan in 2024, with the Turin club subsequently making the deal permanent. The former Lyon academy product is capable of playing centre-back, right-back, and even right wing, which is precisely the profile United are seeking as they address structural weaknesses at the back.

Matthijs de Ligt’s ongoing recovery from back surgery has heightened the need for defensive reinforcement, and with Noussair Mazraoui’s future uncertain, Dalot is currently the only senior right-back on the books. Kalulu’s ability to cover both positions makes him an unusually practical option for Ruben Amorim’s system.
