Pierre Sage considered by Liverpool to succeed Arne Slot, but not leading | OneFootball

Liverpool are considering RC Lens head coach Pierre Sage to succeed Arne Slot, although he is not the club’s first choice. Sage was voted Ligue 1 coach of the season by his peers for 2025-2026.

According to The Athletic, Spaniard Andoni Iraola is ahead in the race. The former Bournemouth manager, who has departed at the end of his contract, is said to be Liverpool’s preferred option for next season.

Sage has recently said that Liverpool was his ideal destination to coach.

He had been under consideration even before Slot’s departure. Slot was dismissed on Saturday.

Sage plans to decide on his future at the start of next week.
