Pizzi and Andreas Samaris start UEFA B+A coaching course after retirement | OneFootball

Former Benfica duo Pizzi and Andreas Samaris have begun the UEFA B+A coaching course, opening a new chapter after retirement.

According to Glorioso 1904, they are part of a 20-strong intake whose opening session was attended by Pedro Proença, president of the Portuguese Football Federation, alongside several federation officials.

The cohort also features familiar figures in Portuguese football, including Pepe, José Fonte, Rolando, David Simão and João Tomás.

Pizzi, who recently confirmed his retirement, was a leading presence for Benfica from 2013 to 2022 and left a clear imprint on the club.

Greek international Andreas Samaris became a fans’ favourite for his commitment and leadership, winning several trophies during his time with Benfica.

The UEFA B+A course could open doors to a coaching career for the pair, who are following a path taken by several former Portuguese players after hanging up their boots.
