Fabrizio Romano has once again clarified details of Chelsea’s deal to sign Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha next summer.

The talented 22-year-old is impressing with fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg in Ligue 1 this season, and scored for them in last night’s Europa Conference League victory against Crystal Palace as well.

Chelsea’s deal for Emanuel Emegha is done for next season

That makes it seven goals and two assists in ten games so far this season for Emegha, who was already confirmed by Chelsea’s official site in the summer.

The talented young Netherlands international will be joining for next season, with Romano explaining that there is a clear plan for him at Stamford Bridge as his contract is due to run for seven years…

Romano posted: “Emmanuel Emegha’s contract at Chelsea from 2026 will run for the next seven years. Plan already clear for the striker who keeps shining at Strasbourg, leading the team in France and Europe… with next chapter at #CFC.”

This already looks like fine business by Chelsea, who have used their links with Strasbourg well to avoid other clubs potentially joining the race for this top talent.

It remains to be seen how Emegha will fare once he comes to Chelsea, as there have been plenty of players who’ve struggled when moving to a different league.

At the same time, though, there could be a real opportunity for Emegha to instantly become first choice for Enzo Maresca’s side as they’re not exactly blessed with the most prolific options up front.

So far this season, Joao Pedro has just four goals in 15 games in all competitions, while Liam Delap is faring even worse with just one goal in eight appearances, and none in five appearances in the Premier League.

Emegha could therefore become a key player as he looks arguably like a far more threatening forward with a higher overall ceiling.
