Play Sport Camp: the camp for solidarity takes place in Misano Adriatico | OneFootball

Inclusion and sport are at the heart of the Play Sport Camp, which from Sunday 19 to Wednesday 22 July provided an educational and shared experience for more than 40 blind and partially sighted children and young people at the Villaggio San Pellegrino in Misano Adriatico.

Now in its fifth edition, this year's community camp – promoted by FC Internazionale Milano and the Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) – was organised in partnership with ASD Real Eyes Sport, an association founded by Daniele Cassioli, Paralympic athlete and world champion water skier, dedicated to organising sporting and recreational activities for blind and partially sighted people.

At the heart of the Misano Adriatico camp was the desire to provide opportunities for people who often face greater barriers to accessing sport and, consequently, the many benefits it offers. With the aim of making physical activity part of the everyday lives of people with visual impairments, Real Eyes Sport develops programmes and initiatives that promote sport as a powerful educational tool.

This shared commitment to creating value within the community gave rise to the summer camp in Misano Adriatico, which ran from 18 to 25 July and hosted the activities of the Play Sport Camp. Children and young people aged between 4 and 14, together with their families, took their first steps into sport while enjoying an experience that encouraged personal growth and the development of their abilities. The programme featured a wide range of multi-sport activities and educational sessions, with dedicated spaces for play and independence in both aquatic and outdoor environments, all within a safe and stimulating setting.

The camp included a number of sports stations, encouraging the young participants to try a variety of disciplines. Among them, coaches from Inter and the CSI, supported by educators and guides, introduced children to football, from their very first touch of the ball to the importance of teamwork.

The enthusiasm and positive response generated by the camp in Misano Adriatico demonstrated how collaboration between different organisations can create a lasting impact and contribute to the wellbeing of the community, using sport as a tool for inclusion and personal development.

Since its launch in 2022, previous editions of the Play Sport Camp have involved more than 1,700 children and young people in Chiavari, Assisi, Arezzo and Messina, creating programmes centred on inclusion, education and sport while supporting young people facing social disadvantage and working alongside numerous local organisations to help build a more inclusive society. This is one of the key objectives of the CSI Pro – The Sport That Helps Us Grow project, of which the Play Sport Camp forms part, aiming to provide educational and developmental experiences through collaboration between grassroots and professional sport.
