Inter beat Lazio 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, the first of two meetings this week. The hosts finished with 10 men after Alessio Romagnoli’s second half red card.

Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring then teed up Petar Sucic, Henrick Mkhitaryan added the third. According to The Laziali, the display underlined Inter’s psychological edge before Wednesday’s final.

Edoardo Motta saved well from Andy Diouf and Yann Bisseck. Adam Marusic lost Lautaro for the opener and was beaten by Mkhitaryan for the third.

Mario Gila’s return was brief, he was late reacting to Lautaro’s strike. Romagnoli laboured against Inter’s speed, then saw red for a studs up tackle on Yoan Bonny.

Luca Pellegrini was beaten in the air by Thuram and looked clumsy at times, yet he released Gustav Isaksen with a fine pass. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru worked hard but his errors proved costly on the second and third goals.

Nicolò Rovella’s hour back in the side was tidy, he knitted play with accurate passing. Toma Basic grafted but is short of his early-season form.

Matteo Cancellieri tracked back tirelessly without end product. Tijjani Noslin remained the liveliest threat and looked freer with Boulaye Dia after the break, he created a big chance for Isaksen and missed one himself. Pedro made little impact.

From the bench, Patric covered calmly after the dismissal and Oliver Provstgaard coped well enough. Isaksen added spark but should have scored at least once from three chances. Dia was the catalyst for Lazio’s best spell, while Manuel Lazzari was not on long enough to rate.
