Mateo Retegui was the MOTM in Italy’s 5-0 win over Estonia with two goals and one assist.
Donnarumma 7 – Came up with a key second-half save. Italy were already leading 3-0, but every goal matters in the World Cup qualifiers.
Di Lorenzo 6.5 – A solid performance at the back, and the link-up with Politano in the final third felt natural for the Napoli pair.
Bastoni 7 – Confident on and off the ball. Received an inevitable yellow card in the second half, blocking a potentially dangerous counter-attack from Estonia. Scored the fifth goal for the Azzurri.
Calafiori 6.5 – The Arsenal star played on the left side of central defence and often carried the ball forward to push Estonia inside their own half further.
Dimarco 7 – Three key passes, not every cross was accurate, but Italy built most of their chances from the left, and Dimarco was always involved. (66′ Cambiaso 7).
Barella 6.5 – Like Tonali, he put in a complete performance as a central midfielder, although the Newcastle ace had even more quality.
Tonali 7 – Passing accuracy over 90% (via Sofascore), won almost all duels (five out of six). Too bad his volley in the second half was saved by Hein (75′ Locatelli 6).

Politano 7 – He was always a tricky opponent for Saliste and also delivered the assist for Raspadori’s third goal. (75′ Orsolini 6.5).
Kean 8 – He battled shoulder to shoulder with all of Estonia’s defenders to create space and chances; ultimately, he gave Italy the lead with a header and then hit the post one minute later. Great to see his commitment, highlighted by a deserved standing ovation when he was subbed off (84′ Pio Esposito N/A).
Zaccagni 6.5 – The Lazio captain took a while to get in the mood of the game, but was increasingly dangerous throughout the match and came close to scoring twice in the second half (66′ Raspadori 8 – One goal and one assist in four minutes, quite an impact. A second assist for Bastoni in the dying minutes.)

Retegui 8.5 – He had the best chance in the first half with a towering header, but was frustrated by Hein. In the second half, he simply made the difference. Brilliant backheel assist for Kean’s opener and superb goal to kill off the game in front of his former fans in Bergamo. He finished the work with a header goal.
Coach: Gattuso 7 – Couldn’t have asked for a better debut, a win with five goals scored. Italy dominated the game, and the performance from the two centre-forwards was excellent. It was the first time that Kean and Retegui started together. Raspadori had an immediate impact with a goal and one assist in the opening four minutes after his introduction. It’s just the first step, but it’s a promising one.
Estonia: Hein 7; Schjonning-Larsen 5, Paskotsi 5 (80′ Tamm N/A), Kuusk 5.5, Saliste 5; Palumets 5, Shein 5 (80′ Soomets N/A); Kristal 5 (61′ Ainsalu 5.5), Kait 5.5, Sinyaviskiy 5 (67′ Saarma 5.5); Sappinen 5 (80′ Anier N/A). Coach: Henn 5
