PSG knocked out Liverpool of the Champions League. The Parisians won the game 1-0 to tie the score on aggregate thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembélé. Unable to separate themselves through 90 minutes and extra time, both sides headed to the dreadful penalty shootout.

In this situation, it all about goalkeepers and it was the perfect moment for Donnarumma to shine and become Paris' hero, which he did. The Italian international saved two penalties from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones and sent his team through the quarterfinals. The French champions will face the winner of the Aston Villa and Club Brugge tie.

Champions League: Liverpool vs PSG, Player ratings:

10 - Donnarumma

After the first-leg, the Italian was heavily criticised and this second-leg was a perfect opportunity for him to shut down all the criticism, which he did. Donnarumma multiplied the decisive interventions throughout the game, denying Liverpool's attackers numerous times. He then played a crucial role in the penalty shootout, saving two of the three shots he faced. A spectacular performance and a well deserved Man of the Match trophy for him.

7 - Hakimi

Solid performance form Hakimi in this game. He kept a close watch on Diaz and played his role perfectly.

7 - Pacho

He had a good game against Jota and then Nunez. He also provided much needed assistance to Nuno Mendes for Mo Salah.

6.5 - Marquinhos

As always, Paris' skipper was amazing with Pacho. Paris suffered a lot in this game and they were able to count on their centre back pair and keeper.

7 - Nuno Mendes

It was a completely rejuvenated Mo Salah that Mendes faced tonight. The Egyptian looked more like his true self but the Portuguese was up for the task once again.

7 - Vitinha

The Portuguese midfielder was once again key for Paris in the midfield battle. Everytime he was able to get out of Liverpool's pressing, Paris was dangerous.

6.5 - Joao Neves

Good game from Neves, the 19-year-old had less facility to navigate in the midfield due to Liverpool’s press but he was important defensively until his substitution.

6 - Fabian Ruiz

Solid outing from the Spaniard.

7.5 - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

An amazing first half. The Georgia international came close to score many times and was unlucky to see his shots deflected by the hosts' defence. His second half was less brilliant offensively as Liverpool was dominating but his defensive work was unbelievable.

6.5 - Bradley Barcola

His cross led to Ousmane Dembélé's goal. However he was very well defended by Konaté and Trent Alexander-Arnold. He had a golden opportunity to score Paris' second goal but was denied by a superb save from Alisson. He slowly faded in the second half and was substituted by Désiré Doué.

7 - Ousmane Dembélé

A very important goal that leveled the score in this tie. The 27-year-old did not have much room to shine against Virgil Van Dijk and Konaté but played a key role in his side's ball possesion in extra time by dropping deep in the midfield.
