Corentin Tolisso’s stoppage-time penalty earned Lyon a 1-1 draw against Paris FC, denying Antoine Kombouaré a second straight win as coach. The midfielder converted from the spot after a late VAR review to rescue the hosts.
Lyon came in off two Ligue 1 defeats and a Coupe de France shootout exit, and Paulo Fonseca rotated with a back three, benching captain Tolisso and Endrick. As reported by Get French Football News, the squad looked stretched before a midweek Europa League tie.
A cagey first half followed, Paris FC sitting deep while Lyon lacked incision. Kevin Trapp made one routine save, Dominik Greif was scarcely involved, far from the earlier 3-3 between these sides.
After the break Paris FC surged, unsettling Lyon and forcing Greif into action. Tolisso’s introduction steadied the hosts and brought half-chances, yet the visitors struck first.
Rudy Matondo’s drive came through bodies, Greif parried and Marshall Munetsi finished. A VAR check for offside confirmed the goal, his third in three matches.
Paris FC then sat in with numbers, threatening on the counter as Lyon chased. Greif’s brave stop kept them alive on 90 minutes, and moments later Adil Hamdani’s cross struck Alimani Gory’s arm at close range. Referee Eric Wattellier consulted the monitor and Tolisso buried the penalty.
Paris FC will rue dropping points so late yet appear well placed to steer clear of a relegation fight. Lyon slip behind Olympique de Marseille on goal difference but end their losing run.
