Inter Miami edged a 10-goal epic, beating the Philadelphia Union 6-4 at home as the World Cup break looms. Rodrigo De Paul marked his birthday with a goal.

The Men in Pink had claimed their first home win against the Portland Timbers a week earlier and looked to extend that run against a struggling Union. According to interheron.com, Suarez topped the subsequent player ratings.

The visitors raced 2-0 ahead with goals in the fourth and 10th minutes. German Berterame replied three minutes later, only for the Union to add another seven minutes after that. Miami struck again through Suarez and Berterame before the interval, and the sides were level at half-time.

After the restart Miami tightened up, restricting the Union attack. Suarez completed his treble and De Paul added the sixth to seal the points.

Lionel Messi tallied two assists but was substituted early because of injury. Dayne St. Clair made several saves yet still conceded four, while Ian Fray’s intensity stood out.

In the ratings, St. Clair received 6.5, Sergio Reguilon 7, Micael 6.4, Gonzalo Lujan 6.3 and Fray 7. Midfielders Telasco Segovia, De Paul and Yannick Bright were marked 7.2, 8.2 and 7.8 respectively.

Up front Suarez earned 9, Messi 8.9 and Berterame 8.6. From the bench, Facundo Mura was given 6.3, David Ayala 6 and Matteo Silvetti 7.8 after an assist, while Noah Allen and David Ruiz were unrated.
