Poland coach hails Pietuszewski and hands 17-year-old a play-off call-up | OneFootball

Poland face Albania on 26 March in the 2026 World Cup play-offs, and head coach Jan Urban has called up 17-year-old Porto winger Oskar Pietuszewski for the occasion.

“Beyond what he did at Jagiellonia and in the academy, he moved to a big foreign club and is showing he can assert himself there. That gave me extra reasons to call him up,” Urban said, speaking to Kanal Sportwy.

“For me, this is still the start of a fantastic career for Oskar, he has had a very good start.”

If Poland win, they will meet Ukraine or Sweden in a one-off tie that decides a place at the finals.

Urban has also selected Bednarek and Kiwior.
