Newcastle United faced off against Liverpool at Anfield earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 36th minute when Anthony Gordon found the back of the net. Hugo Ekitike scored the equaliser for the home side just five minutes later before scoring again in the 43rd minute. Eddie Howe’s players were trailing 2-1 at the half-time break.

Florian Wirtz added another goal for the Reds in the 67th minute. Ibrahima Konate put the contest to bed in injury time as Newcastle crashed to a tough 4-1 loss at Merseyside.

Willock had a couple of bright moments in the game and was replaced in the 72nd minute.
