Porto ‘among clubs interested in’ Nuno Tavares | OneFootball

Porto are being linked with a move for Nuno Tavares, the former Benfica left-back, in a development that could bring him back to Portuguese football.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, Porto are among the clubs considering the Portugal international, aged 26, with Besiktas and Fiorentina also cited as options.

Tavares endured a mixed campaign at Lazio last season, recording one assist in 28 appearances, and struggled for consistency.

He came through Sporting and Benfica, leaving Benfica in 2021 to join Arsenal in a deal worth about eight million euros. He was later loaned to Marseille and Nottingham Forest before heading to Italy.

For Benfica’s first team he made 25 appearances across 2019/20 and 2020/21, scoring once and supplying four assists in 1,561 minutes.

At Arsenal he featured in 22 matches over two seasons, scoring once and adding one assist.
