Porto Canal has filed a criminal complaint against Clube de Albergaria after its crew were prevented from filming during the FC Porto women’s match this afternoon.
In a statement, Porto Canal said it had complied with accreditation rules within the legal deadline and that the home club’s decision breached press law and legislation on freedom of information. The channel will submit a representation to the Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (ERC) and has contacted the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF), which is aware of incidents at Estádio Municipal António Augusto Martins Pereira in Albergaria-a-Velha. It awaits that responsibilities are established and will lodge a representation with the Ministério Público once those responsible are identified.
The reporting team assigned to the seventh round of the tournament to decide the Second Division national champion were stopped from filming in the first half while gathering footage for a highlights edit.
FC Porto immediately raised its displeasure with local officials and informed the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol of what had happened.
Filming was authorised in the second half.
