Porto ‘made contact’ over Caleb Yirenkyi but 30 million euros a hurdle | OneFootball

Caleb Yirenkyi, the Nordsjaelland midfielder currently with Ghana at the World Cup, is again being linked with Porto. Bold reports that Porto made contact last week with the Danish league’s third-placed club to explore a transfer, and were told the asking price is 30 million euros.

Porto had already held talks with Nordsjaelland almost two months ago. The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Portuguese side.

The fee demanded by the Danish club is considered excessive by Porto’s hierarchy. The World Cup stage, where Yirenkyi has already scored, is not viewed as helpful from the buyer’s perspective.

Nordsjaelland sporting director Alexander Riget has said the club rejected offers close to the Danish league record of 28.5 million euros.

For now, the valuation remains a significant hurdle to any move.
