Porto showing interest in young Anderlecht defender | OneFootball

HNB are reporting that Porto are showing interest in Anderlecht defender Ali Maamar. The 21-year-old right-back has been able to take advantage of injuries to other defenders at the back end of last season to showcase his talents and now, Porto are one side showing serious interest in him. However, Anderlecht have injuries in that position, and are unlikely to allow Maamar to leave without lining up a replacement.

Porto have not yet made a concrete offer for the young Moroccan international, but are certainly monitoring him. Mamaar made his Anderlecht debut during the 2024/2025 season, going on to play 20 games for the senior team, providing two assists. Last season he built on this with 32 appearances and four assists.

Anderlecht currently have Ilay Camara and Killian Sardella as options at right-back, but both have injury concerns, making the sale of Mamaar to Porto unlikely until replacements could be found.
