Porto women celebrate promotion at Dragão as emotions run high | OneFootball

Porto’s women marked promotion to the Liga BPI by lifting the trophy at Estádio do Dragão after a 1-0 win over Clube de Albergaria.

The celebrations unfolded on Sunday in front of supporters at the Dragão. According to O Jogo, the squad then posed for photographs to cap a landmark afternoon.

Mariana Azevedo said it had been a dream year in blue and white. She admitted the experience often moves her to tears and felt the Dragão’s energy made a perfect finale even sweeter.

Mariana Queirós described the occasion as special, made even more so by playing at the Dragão, and said being national champion with Porto felt incredible. She thanked the fans, said she had always dreamed of this and believed it could happen, and felt the reality surpassed expectations in a year of growth. She added that praise from others fuels her motivation.

The mood was one of pride and satisfaction, with players and supporters savouring a campaign they will remember for a long time.
