Portugal cancel training after Florida thunderstorms, hours after Atlantic swim | OneFootball

Portugal cancelled their training session and press conference late on Sunday afternoon in Florida because of severe weather.

According to L'Équipe, torrential rain was followed by a brief lull then violent thunderstorms in the Palm Beach area, where Portugal are based, prompting the cancellation. Reporters at the media centre were instructed to evacuate.

Earlier, in bright sunshine, Ruben Dias, Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Francisco Trincao were among those who took a dip in the Atlantic.

Portugal will face DR Congo on Wednesday at 19:00 French time in Houston, Texas, the first fixture in group K.

Uzbekistan and Colombia complete the group.
