Potential Juventus revolution looming as Spalletti set for Elkann meeting | OneFootball

Juventus risk missing out on the Champions League for the first time in 15 years, paving the way for a potential management shake-up while coach Luciano Spalletti is set to meet with club owner John Elkann.

Juventus’ 2-0 loss against Fiorentina on Sunday pushed the Bianconeri to sixth in the standings, two points below a Champions League spot with just 90 minutes left to play.

Missing out on Champions League football will primarily have severe financial consequences on the Serie A giants who would lose at least €80m in revenue from Europe’s elite competition, as Gazzetta highlights.

Luciano Spalletti said in a post-match press conference on Sunday that he’ll meet club owner Elkann in the coming days to assess the future. Spalletti signed a contract extension until 2028 this past April.

Technically, Spalletti’s position is not in danger even though the Italian tactician said he needs to “question” himself after Sunday’s loss to Fiorentina.

According to Gazzetta, lack of Champions League qualification might lead to a new management overhaul with CEO Damien Comolli among those under scrutiny.

Comolli only joined Juventus last summer, replacing Cristiano Giuntoli after just two seasons.

Most of his signings in the 2025-26 campaign have failed to match expectations, especially Jonathan David and Lois Openda but, at the same time, Juventus have changed the members of their control room several times over the last few years, but none of those switches have led to actual improvements on the pitch, quite the opposite.

Therefore, Elkann will have to carefully consider his next moves after meeting with Spalletti.

Any decision will be made after the end of the season next weekend, but according to Gazzetta only Giorgio Chiellini, the Director of Football Strategy at Juventus, is certain of keeping his place at the club.
