Bournemouth are poised to face an uphill battle to keep hold of Antoine Semenyo next year.

After Andoni Iraola was made to bid farewell to some of his most trusted lieutenants, including Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez, last summer, the Cherries could take solace in the fact that they were not only able to keep hold of Semenyo, but also have him sign a five-year deal.

Prior to putting pen to paper on the terms, the forward held talks with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur over potential moves, but eventually opted to stay put and commit his future to the South Coast outfit.

However, it’s thought both sides retain their interest and will revive their respective pursuits in 2026 – along with one other Premier League rival.

Liverpool are now firmly among Semenyo’s admirers, with their interest being spearheaded by sporting director Richard Hughes, who brought the player from Bristol City to Bournemouth in 2023 in a £10 million deal.

Why Semenyo is becoming such a sought-after star

Now, talkSPORT claims the Cherries would demand a fee in the region of £75 million to part ways with their star man prematurely, and you can’t really blame them for having such a high valuation.

Semenyo is on course to smash his career-best top-flight record this season; in 2024/2025, he returned a stellar 11 goals and six assists in 37 appearances. Since the new term got underway, he’s already notched six goals and three assists in just seven outings.

He orchestrated his side’s late turnaround against Fulham last weekend when scoring an equaliser in the 78th minute, assisting Justin Kluivert in the 84th and adding another goal of his own to seal the three points in injury time.
