Much like last year, Aston Villa have once again been credited with interest in Barcelona and Spain forward Ferran Torres.

The 25-year-old attacker is coming off the best season of his career, and Unai Emery’s team are said to be interested in signing him up in the ongoing summer transfer window.

In fact, some reports in England went as far as claiming that the Villans have tabled an offer worth €50 million for Ferran.

No truth to the rumours

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the reality is that neither Aston Villa have considered signing Ferran Torres, nor have they made any formal proposal.

Barcelona, likewise, have not received any communication from the Premier League club. Meanwhile, as reported earlier today, the player has no intention of leaving the La Liga champions.

While there may have been some interest in the past, Unai Emery’s side is currently not interested in the Barça forward, have made no offer, and have not held any discussions with the Catalan club.

The same message comes from inside Barcelona. The club have received no official proposal, and Ferran’s departure is not under consideration.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick counts on the former Valencia and Manchester City player, who has a contract with the club until 2027. As such, he is not listed among those available for transfer.

Ferran himself is not entertaining the idea of leaving. It is not part of his plans, and he has not been informed of any potential move. His intention is to remain at Barcelona and earn as many minutes as possible.

With Robert Lewandowski’s minutes likely to be curtailed in the coming season, Ferran, seen as more of a No. 9 than a winger by the club, expects to have greater prominence in the team.
