More than 75% of Premier League supporters remain opposed to VAR, according to L'Équipe.
An online Football Supporters' Association survey ran between 26 February and 23 March and drew nearly 8,000 Premier League club fans.
Of those polled, 75.7% said they were not in favour of VAR's use in football, while 91.7% felt the system had removed the spontaneous joy from goal celebrations.
Thomas Concannon, the FSA's Premier League network manager, said the findings mirrored a 2021 FSA study in which fans expressed reservations about VAR. He added that the FSA had passed the results to the Premier League and the PGMO (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) and looked forward to discussing them.
Premier League clubs voted to retain VAR in June 2024 despite sustained criticism. It was agreed that, while VAR allows more accurate decisions, improvements should be made in the interests of the game and supporters.
