Premier League: it's looking bad for Liverpool
Two days after Liverpool's defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League (1-2), Arne Slot is sounding the alarm for the Reds.
The loss Liverpool suffered against Manchester City last Sunday is hard to swallow. At Anfield, the Reds faltered in the dying minutes and suffered yet another defeat, dropping Arne Slot's squad down to sixth place. This has stalled Liverpool's climb up the table, and now qualifying for the Champions League next season is absolutely crucial.
"If we don't qualify for the Champions League, then the season will definitely not be acceptable. I can say without hesitation that this is the toughest season I've experienced as a coach. It's an exception for me and for the players, who aren't used to losing and drawing so many matches. We have to be nearly perfect, considering how far behind we are in the standings. The situation is different when you're four points behind a team in 18th place, because they generally don't make up as many points as a team in fourth or fifth," admitted the Reds' manager.
