Bryan Mbeumo made history for his performance in Brentford‘s 4-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Cameroonian international was involved in three of Brentford’s four goals, recording the highest-ever Squawka Score for a single Premier League game since we started our Team of the Weeks at the start of the season. Mbeumo — who scored a whopping 92% — has had a fantastic season in general, with 13 of his 18 Premier League goals this season either being equalisers or putting Brentford ahead.

Only Mo Salah and Erling Haaland (both 14) have scored more equalisers or go-ahead goals in the league this season than Mbeumo. The Brentford man is also second for opening goals with eight this season, behind only Chris Wood in the Premier League.

Mbeumo was the only Brentford player to make the TOTW for Gameweek 33, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa all enjoying multiple entries.

We’ve used our Squawka Score to determine the 11 picks, based on the statistical leaders for metrics relevant to their positions. And as ever, we’ve thrown an honourable mention XI for good measure.

  1. Player rating: 80%

Six of the 20 Premier League teams kept a clean sheet this weekend, and Dean Henderson came out on top as the best-performing goalkeeper. He also completed 10 long passes and caught one cross.

Honourable mention: Stefan Ortega (74%)

RB: Matheus Nunes (Man City)

  1. Player rating: 73%

Matheus Nunes did his bit at both ends of the pitch for Manchester City in their win over Everton, continuing in his right-back role. The converted Portuguese midfielder provided one assist and created one big chance, with seven passes into the final third completed and one shot on target. Nunes was also successful in two offside traps and completed four clearances, with two possessions won in the defensive third.

Honourable mention: Pedro Porro (72%)

CB: Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool)

  1. Player rating: 74%

Ibrahima Konate was a man mountain as Liverpool became the latest team to stop Leicester City from scoring at the King Power Stadium. And it wasn’t a quiet afternoon by any stretch of the imagination. Konate made eight clearances against Leicester and won possession four times in the defensive third, as well as six possessions won in the middle third. On the ball, Konate had a fantastic retention rate of 94.38%, with six passes into the final third completed.

Honourable mention: Dean Huijsen (73%)

CB: James Tarkowski (Everton)

  1. Player rating: 74%

Everton may have lost to Man City, but both goals came late on, well after James Tarkowski had come off due to injury. In his 52 minutes on the pitch, though, Tarkowski was tough to beat. He made three clearances and won two tackles, while also winning all of his duels — both aerial and ground. The centre-back boasted a retention rate of 90.24% and faced just 0.23 non-penalty Expected Goals.

The Englishman was excellent on the ball, with a retention rate of 92.55% and completing 94.81% of his open play passes. He also completed four accurate forward passes and provided an intentional assist. But Rice was arguably even better defensively. Honourable mention: Savinho (72%)

ST: Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

  1. Player rating: 83%

Ollie Watkins hasn’t been a guaranteed starter for Aston Villa in recent weeks, but he proved why he should be — and why Liverpool are reportedly interested. The Englishman left the 4-1 win over Newcastle with a goal and an assist, netting in the first minute before setting up Villa’s second. Watkins goal was his only shot on target from five efforts in total, while he also created one big chance. He was very busy, with 10 touches in the opposition box and three aerial duels won.

Honourable mention: Yoane Wissa (72%)

ST: Leandro Trossard (Arsenal)

  1. Player rating: 74%
