The responsibilities of Thomas Treß (59) in the financial, organisational, legal and investor relations business units and of Lars Ricken (49) in the sports business unit will remain unchanged.
The presidential committee has also appointed Svenja Schlenker (42) as Chief People Officer. This will involve her stepping down from her current position as chair of the works council, though she will continue to lead the girls’ and women’s football division at BVB.
Carsten Cramer, who has played a major role at Borussia Dortmund for over 15 years in prominent leadership positions, said of his appointment as management spokesman: “It makes me very happy and proud to represent BVB in such a public-facing role from now on. I am determined that we will work together as an ambitious and highly motivated team to forge a bright Black & Yellow future.
Svenja Schlenker said: “Borussia Dortmund is more than just a special club – it’s also a fantastic employer. I have worked at BVB for almost two decades, and in my position as chair of the works council it was always important to me to create a positive environment based on mutual trust between the company and its employees. This will remain my aim as a member of the management team. And we are all also motivated by the desire to continue the successful development of women’s football at the club.”
BVB president Hans-Joachim Watzke expressed his best wishes for the new management team: “Svenja Schlenker and Carsten Cramer have earned the trust we have placed in them now through their outstanding work in recent years. Thomas Treß and Lars Ricken have also been a consistent part of our success over an extended period. I have no doubt that this newly structured management team will provide the foundations for a successful future for Borussia Dortmund.”
