Presnel Kimpembe expected to join Al-Kharitiyath in Qatar second division | OneFootball

2018 World Cup winner Presnel Kimpembe, now a free agent, is expected to stay in the emirate and join second-division Al-Kharitiyath, according to L'Équipe.

His exit from Qatar SC was confirmed in recent days. The 30-year-old is likely to continue his career in the country’s second tier.

He is expected to join up with Kaïs Najeh, 23, who arrived in Qatar in 2022, first at Al-Rayyan then at Al-Kharitiyath.

Since 2023, Najeh has played 45 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists. He was voted the division’s best full-back and has one year remaining on his contract.

Last season Kimpembe featured in 11 games for Qatar SC.

The league intends to develop its second division through a new project focused on emerging talents, supported by experienced players, to improve local football.
